An Alex Grant Mystery
“I write to entertain. When people read one of my books, I want them to finish with a smile on their faces, feeling a little bit better about themselves and the people in their lives” Janet Evanovich.
Who is Alex Grant?
Alex is a freelance journalist who writes investigative pieces for the demanding editor of a local Perth newspaper. In between snooping into other people’s lives, Alex writes food reviews that means her non-existent cooking skills are never put to the test. When pressed, she can rustle up a mean tasting bowl of Coco Pops.
Fromage
Fromage is the first novel in the Alex Grant cosy crime series, where freelance journalist Alex is put through her paces dealing with deadly cheese.
Starting in sunny Croatia where Alex is enjoying the last days of her summer holidays, the novel moves to the Margaret River region in the south of Western Australia.
The novel centres on the Puharich family who own an expansive creamery in Croatia and an even bigger operation in Margaret River. The action moves between a dodgy holiday park in Gracetown, to the beautiful Prevelly Beach and back to the Puharich compound that produces the kind of cheese that makes Alex swoon.
But it is not long before the first body is found, and Alex becomes determined that it would make a huge scoop that would make her editor happy for weeks. She puts on her best investigation shoos and starts charming the male members of the Puharich family.
Then its Alex’s turn to find a body and her own life is threatened. Rescued at the last moment, Alex swears off eating cheese for at least a week.
